Travel Information

 

Santa Fe is located in north central New Mexico in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains (the southern most section of the Rocky Mountains) at an altitude of 7,000 feet.

Participants should fly into either Santa Fe Municipal Airport (SAF) or Albuquerque Sunport Airport (ABQ). Ten major air carriers have regularly scheduled flights into the Albuquerque International Airport, which is approximately 65 miles or 105 kilometers and approximately a one hour drive to/from Santa Fe. Please visit the Santa Fe Visitor's & Convention Bureau links below for the many convenient ways via Ground Transportation (including train or shuttle service) to get to Santa Fe from Albuquerque.

NM Rail Runner Express
The New Mexico Rail Runner Express carries passengers to and from Santa Fe and Albuquerque. See Maps for the Rail Runner route to/from Santa Fe.

NOTE
: There is no train or train station at Sunport Airport (ABQ). Upon arrival at ABQ, you MUST take the NM Rail Runner shuttle bus (pdf) or taxi to the 'Downtown Albuquerque' train station and catch the northbound train to the Santa Fe Depot. The shuttle bus is a free ride with your pre-purchased train ticket, otherwise $1 each way.

Once you arrive at the Santa Fe Depot, you can catch the City of Santa Fe Pick Up Shuttle bus (free ride) to the 'Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis Assisi' shuttle stop and walk to the La Posada Hotel from there (appx. 5 minute walk).
